Our story began when we reached the respected age where reading glasses became a part of our daily life. Without, it was hard to read the smaller print. For various sport and outdoor activities, reading glasses did not work very well and did not do good for the eyes. After trying several solutions and speaking to opticians, it became clear that quality functional sunglasses did not exist that could live up to our expectations.
We had to start from scratch and design something that could work for all that wants an active outdoor life, being it a Golfer, Airline Pilot, Sailor or just to avoid having boring reading glasses out in the sun. We have since reached the level where we have solved the technical part, designed a quality frame that can be worn many ours and of course the additional power needed to read small print built into the lens.
The comfort of not having to change to reading glasses just because one needs to read a mobile, instrument or the meny in the restaurant is second to none. We call it “Lifestyle Technology” as we add real lifestyle quality in a pair of very good sunglasses, many times better than others more expensive brands and you get a pair of reading glasses included in the price!

WHAT IS BIFOCAL SUNGLASSES
The word “Bi” and “Focal” describes two different focal points. One for distance and one for near vision. The first bifocal lenses was not invented by an optician but after the statesman Benjamin Franklin that asked his optician to cut the lower part of his glasses and add reading glasses in the lower part. He could then focus on distance and near without having to change glasses. They were then called “Frankling glasses”
SUNREAD has since perfected this in a pair of sports glasses where we are using moulded forms to make optical correct sunglasses with or without polarisation, various filters and shades in colours optimised for the required usage and in four different powers!
